Governance

Adelaide University is governed by the Adelaide University Act 2023.

The Adelaide University Transition Council will oversee the implementation of our vision for the new institution and ensure the successful delivery of our ambitions for the South Australian community.  The University of South Australia and the University of Adelaide have each nominated six representatives. To date, 14 members have been appointed.

The Chancellor

Ms Pauline Carr

Chancellor, Adelaide University

Pauline Carr is a professional non-executive Director with over 35 years of commercial expertise in a range of areas including business improvement, governance, compliance and risk management across the resources, education, retail, healthcare, construction, and superannuation sectors. She has more than three decades’ experience with ASX listed and international companies, a number of which were in executive roles. Appointed as Chancellor of Adelaide University in March 2024, Pauline brings over 16 years of leadership in the higher education sector.

In addition to holding a Bachelor of Economics and an MBA, Pauline is a long-standing Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Governance Institute of Australia.
