Statement from the University Chancellors Council

The University Chancellors Council stands united in condemning the tragic events at Bondi Beach over the weekend. This was an unthinkable attack, and our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and all those affected.

As leaders of Australia’s universities, we affirm that hatred and violence have no place in our society. Universities are places of learning, respect, and inclusion. We celebrate diversity, absolutely reject antisemitism, racism, and hate in all its forms, and we stand in solidarity with the Jewish community in Bondi, and across Australia.
